- Hits: 5017
Can I just show up for a tour?
No, due to Fort Jackson requirements we must reserve each tour at least 60 days in advance.
What does "Dutch Treat" mean?
It means that each individual is responsible for paying for their meals. Lunch in the mess hall is $4.25 (Cash only, must have military I.D.). Lunch in the NCO club (No military I.D. required) will be $8.00 for buffet (Cash, Credit or Debit Card). Bringing sack lunches is permitted.
Can I consume alcohol at the NCO Club?
Yes, as long as you are at least 21 years of age. Consuming alcohol on our vehicles and/or anywhere else on this trip is not permitted.
What are the age restrictions?
Fort Jackson does not allow any person under the 8th grade to participate in this type tour.
Why do I need to bring my pictured I.D.?
Fort Jackson requires all personnel to present a valid and current pictured I.D. to enter the post.
Will I be able to shop in the PX (Post Exchange)?
You can if you have a current valid military I.D. card. All others will be allowed to shop with vendors in the PX Mall area.
How long will we have for lunch and shopping?
Typically one hour for lunch and up to 1 1/2 hours for shopping depending on the training observance schedule.
What training will I be able to observe?
We will not know for sure until after the 60 day deadline.
How should I dress?
We suggest that you dress casual and comfortable enough to visit the various training areas on post.
Are cameras and videos allowed on post?
Typically yes, however, they may not be allowed in certain secure areas.
Why can't I get my money back if I have to cancel?
We have to guarantee a certain number of guests in order to reserve a particular date on post. Your cancellation could jeopardize others who did not have to cancel from making the trip.
Can I let someone else go in my place or get a credit if I have to cancel?
You can transfer your seat(s) to someone else as long as they meet the requirements above. Credits may be issued on a case by case basis.
Are we allowed to tell war stories while en route?
Yes, war stories and fish tales are allowed and encouraged while en route to/from Ft. Jackson. Clean cadences are allowed as well -- depending on agreement from others.
